Cristiano Ronaldo is in talks with Real Madrid to reduce the amount needed to release him from his contract with club.
Reports have said that Ronaldo wants to move from Spain, possibly to return to the UK and Manchester United.
When Ronaldo signed his contract with Real Madrid he did so with a massive release clause of €1-billion (R15-billion). Ronaldo is allegedly trying renegotiate the clause down to only €100-million (R1.5-billion).
The hefty price tag has essentially made Ronaldo unavailable for transfer. With a more realistic and lower price Ronaldo may be able to make the move.
Ronaldo is now 32 which makes him an expensive and potentially risky deal which the Portuguese manager may not be prepared to risk.
