- South African sports commentator, Cebo Manyaapelo passed away on Wednesday

- His passing came two days before a charity event in his honour
The charming sport caster and Motsweding FM presenter lost the battle against an undisclosed disease he had been struggling with for the past few months.
He apperanlty travelled from his residence in Mafikeng to Chris Hani Baragwanath Academic Hospital in Soweto for treatment.
Unfortunately, he passed away two days before a charity-benefit golf day organised by colleagues and well-wishers.
The goal of the event was to generate money for his growing medical bill.
Briefly.co.za learned from Sowetan Live that SABC spokesman, Kaizer Kganyago, confirmed Manyaapelo’s death and stated that the public broadcaster is grief-stricken.
Kganyago said that Manyaapelo will be remembered for his immense contribution at the SABC as the former Motsweding FM breakfast host for the programme Bosele in 1998.
Manyaapelo later became a sports presenter for Mamepe, a sports programme on Motsweding FM.

He was in the television business from 1998, when he was a sports commentator on Laduma, until his death.
He worked on special events including the 1998 and 2010 Fifa World Cup, and the Afcon 2013 and 2015.
